Eco-tourism is a young concept to Egypt, and we consider ourselves pioneers. Our goal is to assist the Nubian community in improving their land without damaging the environment. SAÏ was created to satisfy our eager passion to be immersed within the beauty of Lake Nasser, and unravel its monuments’ stories. We are now ready to unlock all the adventures that lie within the Nubian Lake.
We have gone out of our way to guarantee that SAÏ is the greenest boat in the region. Taking 5 years to complete, SAÏ was handcrafted out of wood, making it very light with minimal fuel consumption. It has an efficient generator equipped on board to provide electricity. With SAÏ we rest assured that we can relish the majestic beauty of Upper Egypt, without the guilt of hurting the ecosystem.
Floating 26m in length and stretching 6.5m wide, SAÏ is equipped to accommodate 12 guests in six, two passenger cabins. Four are located on the main deck and the remaining two are to be found upstairs. While all cabins possess private bathrooms, the two on the upper deck have the added feature of private terraces that provide stunning views of Lake Nasser during our voyages. Inspired by traditional Nubian style, SAÏ bears an elegant and cosy ambience especially in the lounge bar and restaurant.
Our days start in the early hours of the morning, since this is the most intriguing time to observe the wildlife of the Nubian Lake. Everyday our chef prepares a broad range of local and international dishes using only the freshest ingredients available in Upper Egypt.
Teeming with rare plants and animals, Nubia is a hotspot for nature enthusiasts, especially during the mild weathered winter months. Visited annually by a diverse society of migratory birds such as the White Pelican, Egret, Nubian Goose and dozens more, the site offers remarkable experiences for fond bird watchers and ornithologists. Even after the construction of the Aswan High Dam and the relocation of numerous monuments (with the aid of UNESCO), we are proud to take you on a journey to discover the legacy of the Black Pharaohs.
Along our tranquil cruises, aside from soothing swims, naturists will love our hikes along the banks of Lake Nasser. To those looking to explore the world within, the calmness of the region is perfect for yoga and meditation and Nubia is the perfect place to find spiritual transcendence. And for those really looking to immerse themselves in the unfamiliar wonders of Lake Nasser, camping along the banks is highly encouraged.*
